I just think it would be nice to start a tradition where when a guy does a restoration on a cool old vintage kit there should also be a sound file so everyone can actually hear the drums. It doesn't have to be a 'performance' but just enough to give a good idea of what the kit sounds like. Adding that one feature would bring many restoration threads to life and ten times more fun to follow.

I have never posted a sound file before.

What formats are compatible?

Can we go full audio quality with .WAV?

Or must we go mp3?

I do not see a familiar audio format as an attachment choice.

I'm curious to what heads you like to use on these sizes?

I typically use a standard clear Remo Ambassador on the Reso side.

And an Evans EC2 or Remo Clear Emperor on Batter.

Occasionally a Pinstripe on top.

Depends on what I have in stock.

Nothing fancy. This type of combo has worked for me for many years.

Thicker on top. Thinner on the bottom.

The Bass Drum came with some Aquarian Heads that I have not used before.

They seem to be fine for punch and low end.

And.....the price was right.

They have big muffler rings attached to the heads.

Oh man, don't make me take those tubs out of storage! They're buried behind four other kits. Cooked Egg

BTW - I like using clear black dots on Vistalites and FG drums. Those heads let them sing. I like the Aquarian kick head too. It's perfect for your FG bass drum.

Always has worked for me, as well. Good shells don't much care/need to worry about the brand of batter/reso. Some worse than others but in general...

Couple of my new toys came with same. Seem fine for some applications.

Best I can tell quickest way for an audio/visual file embedded in a post here would be to upload it to YouTube and link to that.
