Those look fantastic Purdie! I knew you should have ordered the floor tom wrap up front. :)

Honest, I just didn't have the extra cash. It would have added $78.00 to the bill. I'm not worried, they have plenty of this new wrap in stock. I'll order the piece next week, after I get the floor tom in.

Ok, here's a little teaser for the bass drum. It's all wrapped and currently clamped and curing. I'll pull the clamps tomorrow and finish her off. Still work to do on some hardware, and the hoops are ready for paint and wrap-strips. I'm getting antsy, can't wait to see these done and ready to play.

Enjoy the photos. I'm really loving this wrap.

Well Purdie, that is just a fantastic color choice, especially for those drums. Very classy kit. You should be grinning from ear to ear.

Good looking fella! :p

Again, the drums look amazing! Just curious, what method are you using to install the grommets?...the $2 bolt/washer/nut tool?

Nope... good old fashioned ball-peen hammer. I rest the ball of the hammer on the back of the grommet with the front of the grommet resting on a hard surface - and then I give it a good whack. Spreads it out in one shot. Quick and dirty, no 'special tools' needed at all.

Lynn - Just to be clear... I use -two- hammers to install grommets. A ball-peen and a regular carpenters hammer. I rest the ball of the peen hammer on top of the grommet .(inside) I strike the top of peen hammer with the second hammer.

I didn't want to leave you the impression that I was just whacking the grommet with the peen hammer. It's an 'anvil' type set-up.
