Where is introduction part of forum?

Yup, that's the same tom mount I have. The single pole that goes into that mount is smooth round & just spins around - so I was figuring there must be something to fit into those raised ribs inside the mount to stop the spinning. It's also what I would call a sloppy fit - so I guess it could also be the wrong size, but it sure fits well with the upper part of the hardware where the toms actually mount. Are you saying there isn't something that locks into those ribs?? Then what keeps the toms firmly in place?

I know the B8's are not high level pies - but they'll get me by for the time being. Thanks for the tips on what to look for.

thanks

Have the T handle - but it's a bit rounded out where the fitting goes into the mount & I think it's only for basic pressure on the pole anyway. It's not doing anything to stop the spinning. Do you have a pic of that memory lock that drops into the channels? That's what I was figuring was needed - and what I intend to try and fabricate with what I'm using at the moment while I shop for a memory lock like that.

My B8's sound ok - need to upgrade my hi-hats for the next investment. Also have a Meinl Ambico Camber ride cymbal - from what I read it's "ok" too - so it may get a rivet treatment b/c it don't seem to be worth that much.

thanks

Yes, that's what I figure is needed -a memory lock with the male pieces to fit down into the tom mount. Where to find?

I have an old slingerland with mounted toms. the pole on mine isnt perfectly round and if it was it woundnt fit. Mine has a kind of a dint in it for one of those ridges to fit in. Id say if your pole is round it is also a smaler gauge.

I cant sell you the mounting pole but I can sell the hole kit with symbols. lol.

the mounting pole is perfectly round and sloppy in the mount hole - but last night I figured out how to add a piece of metal that fits inbetween the ridges of the mount.

What type of mount/cymbals do you have on your Slingerland BD that you want to sell?

Hi...This is my introductory post. My name is Kevin and bought my Rogers kit almost new in 72! I am told they are vintage ...so I guess that makes me vintage or at least old. I have been a drummer all my life from a family of drummers...played every sort of music including DCI level drum corps. I have owned Stewart, Pearl, Ludwig, Slingerland, Yamaha RC's, all now history except for my Rogers. They were bought for me by my parents when I entered College to study music so are very special to me. I currently hammer on a set of Yamaha electronic drums to try to maintain my chops.

I hope to learn about my Rogers drums. I would like to pin down their vintage although I know it will be between 1969 and 72 (They are Fullerton drums). They are in great condition with only the rubber feet missing on a couple of stands.

Looking forward to getting involved in the forum.

Cheers

Kevin

Hello! I'm wood, I'm brand new here, I live on Treasure Island Fla and I'm rebuilding some drums, so I hope I can get help from time to time. I have played drums just about all of my life, and I still play almost everyday, but I still can be a hamerhead! so I'd appreciate the help.
