Hello everybody,

I'm a newbie to the sight and have read a lot of interesting post. I too have been looking for the intro forum and figured here was a good place to start. I've been playing for about 37 years now and still play the first set I ever bought, a 1972 Pearl set with the fiberglass spun (centrifuged) inner coating, its an oyster blue beauty.

I could use some help locating a Slingerland Yellow Jacket bass pedal if anyone knows someone who has one for sale.

Welcome to the forum robkopp! Yes, it's a really great site, I joined not long ago I am very impressed with the good people and knowledge being shared here. About the pedal, I did a quick search here and there and I found just one ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/Slingerland-Yellow-Jacket-bass-drum-pedal-drum-vintage-/110604599991?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item19c08c42b7 I don't know if it's what you want, or that you are an ebay person, but I thought it might help. You should make a post in the wanted to buy section, I'm sure that would help and it would get people looking. I've since learned that the vintage drum community is great when it comes to helping each other out, as I said, good people and knowledge, knowledge, knowledge!

All the best, LevonPurdie

Thanks Levon,

Later on last night I actually met a guy on the forum and found the pedal I was looking for. Its being shipped tomorrow, I can't wait. I am amazed at the knowledge in a lot of the threads, I can see myself restoring my old set over the next few months,

Thanks,

Robert

Hey All,

Great site and great info!!

Not too long ago my brother was given a 3 piece set of Zim Gar drums with some vintage hardware, cymbals, and Gretsch Floating Action pedal. He gave them to my 9 year old son and we have started the restore process. I'm not sure of the year. I'll post pics soon!

Hey everyone,

I'm yer basic hack, find something & beat is with a stick kinda guy, so drums is the obvious choice.......:-)

Been playing a few years now, so ya think I mighta learned something by now, but I can make a lot of noise.

Playing a late '70s to early '80s pearl 5 piece kit 13" 14" 16" floor tom 22" kick & 14"x7" snare, to which I have added a 10" Remo & 8" Tama of unknown origins.

Have a really nice old 15" Zildian & a couple of other gongs (sorry cymbals)

We play a lot of old rock, stuff from the mid '60s to early '80s mostly, & our originals are much the same kind of sound & feel.

Just scored myself a set of Premier EDP300 double kicks, & after a bit of basic repair & titivation have finally had a play with them.

Like the feel so far, but want to know more about them.

Has anyone got a manual for them?

I can understand the basics of what the different adjustments do, but would like some pointers as to the finer details of setting them up.

any help would be appreciated

Thanks
