Here is my Rogers Dynasonic 14x10 marcher. Just like the one on a Rogers catalog from back in the day. I have a question for Powertone: in that picture of you at Covington High School the drum you are playing has a harness around your shoulders and across your middle. What is that type called and does anyone have or know where I could get one. I'd like to put it on my marcher. My drum has the bracket that accepts the post from the carrier across your middle but that's all I have.

My Marching Snares- Ludwig 10 1-2"-15" early 60's Marching Drum in Gold Sparkle--Ludwig 10"-14" 1969 Marching Drum in Silver and Blue sparkle. I play these every morning to start the day. The blue/silver drum is wired up with el-wire both inside and out for it's annual trip to Burning Man.

Your displays have helped to look for certain types and names, I really didn't know there were other makers other than the basic drum makers. Were do you start looking for vintage , barns, flea markets, eBay, vintage drum forum ?

Here you go

A few from my collection. Some need to be cleaned up and are in the queue.

1) 1904 to 1920 Oliver Ditson Company Marching Snare Drum

2) 1920’s Gold Label Ludwig trademark Parade Field Snare Drum

3) 1940's WFL US Eagle Marching Snare

4) 1950'S Slingerland American Eagle Parade Snare

5) John C Haynes & Co Boston Mass Marching Snare - Unsure of the date

Unfortunately the 1940 WFL's will need to be combined using the best parts into 1 drum. I paid $30 for the 2 drums as someone tried to turn them into foot stools. Will be a fun project.

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

Here are a few more.

6) 1950 Great Britain Royal Coat of Arms Marching Snare Drum

7) 1963 Walberg and Auge - Maple Marching Snare

8) Premier British Royal Dragoon Marching Snare Drum - Unsure of date

9) A personal plug on why I collect Marchers also ! My friend Dave and I in our 1976 SPF High school Drum Line: We were only 4 snares, 4 toms, Bass and Cymbals, but claimed the fame as the NJ State Power Drum line Champs !

Am in the hunt for the marching snare I used 40 years ago in High School. A pretty common Ludwig snare so I am in no hurry, too many other projects that need attention first.

That's about all I have for now Grantro, but knowing my propensity for collecting I am sure more will come in the future !
