Beautiful drum Heraldo. I have been wondering about these drums. Do they hold a tight enough tuning?

(They also donated concert instruments as well.) I was reading The Rogers Book by Rob Cook and noticed information on Page 14 about Rogers donating drums to Covington High School on Memorial Day, 1961. There is also a picture of the HS Marching Band with 5 snare/tenor drums and 1 bass drum. Could you be in this picture, Powertone?

picked this up a while back as a shell,badge and muffler. the original drum was in nickel hardware. nickel seems to be getting harder to find these days. I decided to complete it with chrome parts that I had on hand rather than have it apart. has the 48-52 wfl damen ave badge. original gold sparkle wrap with the interior showing some of the wrap tucked into the scarf joint. clear mahogany interior and maple re-rings. there was a date written in pencil inside that reads B-8/2/52. there was also a date of 8-21-65 s+b written on one of the re-rings. an ink stamp of Bernard augins musical instrument service 273 central ave Rochester ny was stamped within the shell and re-ring in seveal places. it is 10x15 8 lug snare with center lug configuration. there is one small hole drilled near the top hoop. you can see pencil markings inside the shell marking where to drill. not sure exactly what its is for however. currently has a Ludwig playon plastic batter and a Ludwig snare side head. 20 strand snappy wires as well. I love saving these old drums. hope to add period calf heads and also brass hoops in the future.

I picked this Slingerland rope tension one up earlier this year off my local CL.

It's missing the strainer (the search is ongoing) and snares. It needs some TLC.

A good thing to revive it. Nice thread. Here are mine.

This one is a custom made one, a very thin maple shell (from some old drum I had lying around) with home made oak re-rings. 14 x 9.

Two Premiers. A 14 x 10, I removed the wrap and treated the wood with satin oil. A 14 x 12, all original except for the screws and heads.

Played these drums in my band. Both are beasts. I play simple 70's rock and need a big back beat. These drums work great. I expected to miss sensitivity, especially with the 12 inch deep drum, but that is not the case. It sounds big, fat and loud, but it is still sensitive.
