Got this one back in early spring. March 17 1959 date stamp transition badge 12x15 8 lug model. Mahogany finish with nickel hardware.

I'm very curious about your experiences using these drums in a drum set as a main snare.

I have only ever owned one marching snare...It was the snare in my first post at the beginning of this thread...I restored it (pic later in thread)...

I flipped the drum and made some money to help fund another project...I think I only had it for a couple of days after the restoration before I sold it...I never did put it behind a kit to see what it would sound like...

So, I have no experience using marching snares behind a kit...Anyone else care to comment with their experience?

Regret my Gretsch and Slingerland are in bits at the moment. Will post when finished.

Granto, marchers generate a pretty huge sound. Great for parades and stadium marching band performances. May be a tad much for smaller enclosed spaces. Smaller sticks tame them somewhat. Great drums!

I bought this from a dude on Craigslist for $20, he said he found it in the basement of his new house. I can't get over the paint job! This is probably my favorite snare drum and I've never even played it haha, I just love how it looks so much! The badge and hardware say Slingerland but that Eagle screams Merica'!!
