Nice birch-like drums, hardware inspired by Tama and Rogers-like lugs. Good quality, not the cheapest.

Also, Santana seems to be missing from many of these lists - early, typical stencil-brand in luauan and with banana-rail tom mounts. But nice wraps!

Thought I would share with all of you one of my drum sets. Its a Tama Artstar Cordia from 1982. I've had this for 13 years now and just last summer I added on a second kick drum and most recently a 18" floor tom. I love these drums, but I will say I've been tempted to sell them to get Tama's new Stainless Steel or Bubinga Warlord kits... they're just to bad ass!

I have gone out & found many catalogs to copy to use as references. I did not have this info. I have tons of catalogs & the pics.

If anyone needs any reference material, in specific, I would be glad to send them to you. I assume it is not a copyright infringement if I send them free of charge and they are used only for reference. I am lacking two vintage Tama catalogs.

I need: 1973 & 1981

I also have several Star catalogs. They are not dated, so I don't know what years I lack.

Anybody knows anything about Decca drums, made in Japan, during the mid or late 60's ? I have an old 4 pc. drumset by Decca.

The most that I have learned about Decca is that it is a Japanese brand.

Given the relative weight of Japanese content now, is it worth having a new second category for them, rather than just continuing with just 'Non-USA'?

I am not noticing much cross interest between American, European and Asian enthusiasts within the postings.

out of all those badges and names of japanese drums my first 2 sets before my 1976 pearl fiberglass shell drums are listed i can,t believe it my first set was a single tom with a bass mounted cymbal and hihat no floor tom maybe 1967? red sparkle BLACK JACK then a double mounted tom, floor tom, hihat still bass mounted cymbal blue sparkle KINGSTON maybe 1969 then i finally bought my own set this time no mom and dad surprises at christmas and that was the 1976 pearl set and i,m still the original owner but i wished it was a surprise at christmas

Sir, you are completely incorrect. While I mainly post in Non-USA, I am all over this forum, because I am a restoration pro, as are most of the others. Our love of the MIJ fare is honestly that of economics. My love of the instrument drives my choice of MIJ as I simply cannot afford to dabble in American drums AT THIS TIME. I can out restore and out build most so-called pros, any day of the week.
