Slingerland Radio King WMP project kit........

Loading...

From FFR428

Thanks Jeff. I hope they'll be pretty cool when done. My old 70's Slingerland kit I had years ago had a 20" floor tom. It was pretty boomy. So I hope this one will sound good too. :) The 2 up 2 down setup will get me back in the pocket again playing wise. I've played the 2 up way so long the 1 up kinda messed me up. Not that I was ever a very good player but hopefully I'll suck less with the 2nd mounted tom again.

Glenn,

A 20" RK floor tom!!! I'm jealous! That's gonna be a rockin' kit when you get everything together.

Hi Lynn,

Hope you've been well my friend! Yes got kinda lucky on the RK shell. It should be here soon I hope. I'll post some pics when I get it.

Your new RK's are still my favorite by far! I bet you've been rockin with them. The history and vibe from them are just awesome! One of the pics you sent me has been my screensaver for quite some time. Yes Sir They are beautiful.

Take care buddy.

Glenn - Post some shots of the 20" when it arrives! It's going to be a killer drum kit.

Dude... 24 pages and still going strong! Has to be the longest resto thread -ever-! lol Stage Band2

Can't wait to see these set-up and ready to play for the first time. You must be anxious to see them done yourself. Trust me, I -know- how you feel...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I sure will I'm pretty excited to get it. I'm lining up the needed parts for the 2nd phase of these. It's not a very period correct kit but it's what I like to play so that's all that matters..... My FrankenKings.

Yes this thread is a pretty good mess. I'm sure everyone is getting tired of seeing it too. So once they are done I'll end it.....really~! Laughing H I've said that before though. :D

Very true Aaron. I'm not blaming the drums.... just my playing. I'm working very hard on that too. Taking a 30 year break has not helped. I know in my mind what to play it's just getting the rest of me to follow along. Cooked Egg ;)

So, how is your project going?

Take care, my friend!

Hi Lynn.

Yes indeed buddy your RK's are one of a kind. Such and great kit and history!

I really dig em. :)

Not much is going on here yet. I'm still waiting on the guy to send the shell and hoops. There's a few other things too coming from him but we've hit a bump in the road on those. So I hope soon to be back working on these.

Hope you've been well and keep me up to speed on your project too. ;)

Today marks 1 year since I started this project. Although it was sort of finished once are they ever really finished? :) Time seems to fly by. I should have pics of the toms on the set o matic sometime this week. Still need to get some 3.5" T rods for the 15" too.

Well happy Anniversary Glenn!

Don’t worry, almost every kit I own still need some kind of detail. Its too easy to get excited about a new project and put the one your working on the back burner.

Thank you!
