BTW John I always get a lot of compliments on the 20" A Zild I got from you. Very nice cymbal. ;)

Hey Glenn, are you sure you're not related to Kevin? You guys look like brothers! Great shots, thanks for posting them.

Yep, that is a sweet, clear sounding cymbal with some great stick. I very rarely buy cymbals, but when I do, it's because I heard something special in it. Because it's a cymbal I can't pass up. Glad it's in a good home where it gets played and appreciated. It is a nice one. Enjoy...

Jeff - This is from the Wiki site: The Radio King series of drums were introduced in 1935, and remained Slingerland's flagship snare drums and drum sets until 1957, when the Radio King model briefly disappeared from the product line. Between 1960 and 1962, Radio Kings were reintroduced and remain the premier product for the Slingerland Drum Company.

If your guys are pre-1957, it's good chance they are RK's. You have to check the tags, shells and hardware to know for sure. What year are yours? What is the shell lay-up? Look for the wide rock maple re-rings.

Thank you John. My drums are all different. The snare has a stamp, 1959. The ft has a stamp 1964 the bass I got from billnvick has a maple interior. The 13" has not date but mahogany inside and from researching this site I beleive it to be 62. From the catalogs my snare is looking like a Gene Krupa Super. Doent matter too much, they are great sounding drums. I just didnt want to call then RK and lie to everyone.

Glenn sorry to rop your thread, but your work on your drums is what started me thinking here. Great pic of you and the official rk's.

Thank you!

Jeff it's all good buddy! It's cool to see your drums and all the great info too. I got a beautiful 22" LBP bass from Bill. It has clear interior and is date stamped March 66. It's up next to get finshed and added to the LBP kit.

I have the same snare and call it a Radio King :) I know it's a GK though. I know thew RK name went on snares for some time. I just don't know when the kits stopped using the name. Either way they are all great sounding drums. That's what really counts.

Well that is totally awesome! Makes my day to see that drum in the hands of a craftsman and being treated with the TLC it deserves.

THANKS Glenn!!
