Yes and just got home. Today was 13 at 2 places. 10 at the new and 3 at a part timer I just picked up. I'll be there on Sat's too. Money isn't great but I'm very thankful it's something and we can at least make ends meet. At the new day job there's room to advance and learn new things. So that'll be good when it happens.

Thanks buddy hope all is well with you. The new job sounds pretty interesting you scored. I'd like to see some pics when you get into it. BTW I like your website too. Lots of cool stuff you make there!!

I'll have the snare done by Thursday eve hopefully!!

Hey Glenn, coming together, man! I vote to wait for a nice WMP RK shell to show up on fleabay. It'll be a lot closer, in terms of matching the rest of the kit, than the one you have ever will. That one will be good for now, so you can play the kit, but keep an eye open for a nice WMP tom shell.

Really nice job on these so far. Bowing

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Thanks John. I'll keep a eye out and in time will find something. This snare conversion was a pretty inexpensive alternative and had a lot of the parts already here. I couldn't pass up a free orphan shell in WMP~! I'm a sucker for those. It's a mahogany interior shell and mid 50's so it'll bland right in. There'll be more on that soon.

I got a 3rd wind (2nd wind spent at 2nd job) thanks to some Tower Of Power!! Got the new Clamshell throw and tension bodys on. All my hardware from Ol' Woody fit like a glove. Man it's so cool to have the right parts. I couldn't wait any longer to get started. All that's left tomorrow is level the snares and install and set the tension parallel. I know some guys really don't like these strainers but I love em~! Such a easy thing to setup once you understand how they work.

Helpful tip to those looking for parts.....something I noticed long ago but forgot to mention. The zoomatic strainer uses the same type of threaded barrel insert and nut as the clamshell where the Zoomy knob threads into the insert. Only major difference is the Zoomatic insert has a hex shaped head where the clamshell's are round. If your fussy a grinder could make short work of it and make it round. you'd just need to drill out the threads if you needed it for the throw side. Jim Petty sells the repop parts but the Zoomy parts are easy and cheaper to find.

I still don't know who sent me these parts. Hopefully one day I will and be able to thank them properly.

I need some sleep more..... tomrorrow and pics!!

The power of drums! Funny how they can make you work on them even after a 13 hour day. I have been really happy for you the last few days. Told the wife the whole story of your strainer search. She knew about the Super bowl bid and she too was happy to hear how it turned out. Did you try and contact the seller of the clamshells to find out who bought them? It would be nice to know but on the other hand the person chooses to remain anonymous and maybe you should respect that and just leave it alone.

Cant wait to see the pics!

Oh and, you better keep your woody! Ha ha he he

Thank you!

Thanks James yes it's certainly great to have the correct parts. My old tension side was a bent too and I straightened it out best I could. There's some serious tension on these. I could see the old body started to twist again. From being bent before I'd guess just fatigue after time. But the new parts are arrow straight and in top shape!

Yep the Secret Santa isn't known yet~! :Santa:

Man your so right my wife was laughing at me how tired I was when I got home. And then spent 2 hours getting the drum apart and new bodys on. I didn't contact the seller I don't have a EB account. If in time the person chimes in it would be really cool to know and thank them. But I can understand if they'd rather not me know. It's just my nature to try to repay someone who's done something nice for me. So maybe in time I'll have the chance or just pay it forward. Either was it's cool.
