Ludwig 1970s Black Panther "monster" .....

Hey, thanks! If a BP jazz fest surfaces, it's every man for himself! LOL!!! So, I think I'm up to 15 pieces now. If we displayed together, it would be some kind of record...for the state anyway.

About 5 years ago, there was a BP kit for sale. (2) 24s, 13/14, 16/18, supra and matching canister. I had the money, but it would have cleared the savings account at the time. I went the responsible route and am sorta kicking myself because the savings account grew and the drums got away. I passed because it was more than twice the price I paid for the 3 BP kits I already owned. That was back when it seemed like people paid you to take a BP off their hands. LOL

I need a single 24" shell. Find me one. ;)

I know what you mean about the BPs not costing a lot. While my kit has cost quite a bit over the years (though as mentioned earlier in the thread, only a few hundred $ a year), most of what I've spent is for hardware and cymbals. I have purchased 2 BP kits and numerous extra drums (16 shells total) and I think I've spent less than $1,500 for all 16 of those drums combined. I've got an extra 13" tom or two lying around not being used on my set.....yet. Cool Dude

[QUOTE=l That was back when it seemed like people paid you to take a BP off their hands. LOL[/QUOTE]

A friend of mine found my BPs in with a ton of stuff he bought off of Craigslist. I went and looked at them and told about them on here and found Ludwigdude's black panther thread and I had to have them. I think I got a good deal at $400, they were in surprising, amazing condition, but i did take em all apart and cleaned everything. I love them, but i have 16 other kits. so.......

Yeah, I think $400 was a great deal for those. I remember your build thread on them. That's how I first started talking with you, since you have found the closest grain material to the originals, used to wrap your snare, which looks great like that, by the way.

Very cool set up. I especially like the cymbal layout.

Thanks, plexi69. :)

I should totally get one of these for my drum room wall....

Or perhaps this one, and under the 'custom text' section, have them do the Ludwig logo. That would rule.
