nice work. They look great.
Did you move to Wellington because of the earthquake in Christchurch?

Thanks, No I was planning on moving back anyway and then the earthquake struck. How does that yamaha kit you got sound? Much different to the other mij's you've got?
Not sure how they sound yet, still slowly cleaning them up. They are in magnificent condition though. Should be finished soon and I'll post them here.
The disappointing thing was that the seller had a set of identical shells with the wrap removed. I had already bought the lugs and mounts etc off him but he was holding onto the shells. Then they appeared on TM for $20 buy now and someone bought them before I could get myself organised. So if you know Chch buyer 488 let him know I've got the rest of the parts. Surely they should be reunited - they'd make a great project.
Trev, that is sweet. I am so glad we were here for you to get you in on them. That is one of the rarest Star kits you will ever come across and since they were in even better than expected condition, I am glad to have helped kicked you in the butt to buy them. I do so hope you are happy with them. I know I was rather out spoken on the acquisition, but knowing how rare they are, I wanted to see them in the hands of a committed owner. They certainly turned out!
Hey There Gang! I have one 14x20 clear Star Bass drum in great condition. It has rail type tom mount! no extra holes! Does anybody has a tom or a floor tom to date my bass drum? I have plenty of Star hardware. So I was thinking about just fitting them on some RCI shells but I know its not going to be the real deal....Any suggestions?

This was my first acrylic kit and it's taken me a little bit of time to get used to it's "boomy sound" but now I love it. I play it all the time and the kingbeat is such a kick ass snare you can play it loud or soft and you get such a beautiful tone! This kit really growls when you lay in to it! I'm totally stoked I bought this kit!
