I wonder if those drums were sitting by a window. Look's to me like a bad case of sun burn.
Possibly the worst yellowing of WMP ever.
“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
I see nothing wrong w/ the look of your set. I've had a WMP Sherwood snare that aged to a Golden /butterscotch, & found it very attractive. Clean your Clubdates up, & definitely keep the wrap. (When you find a floor tom to complete the set, most people won't notice or even care about the difference).
So here is the first pic after removing hardware and cleaning.

The 3d effect of the wrap is more prominent, and the yellowing is alittle lighter.
The Finnish is pretty dull, so I may use a wax or pollish.
The second pic is of the best side. Next up gluing and clamping the bass drum.

I agree with Purdie. That seems to be way too much for simple UV degradation. Clean the shells first and see what you get. Unlike many on the forum, I would say if a wrap is that far shot (assuming it doesn't clean up worth a flip) re-wrap them in something you like. A great looking set of refurbished Club Dates beats a really horrible looking original kit in my book.
I agree with tnsquint, if they were mine I would consider re-wrap but I guess it depends alot on what you do with them, sell em, keep em.
Thank you!

Thanks for the visual tour. Considering I'm listening to it on my laptop speakers and you recorded them with the mic on your video camera, with a little "audio imagination" they sound really good!! Were you able to get the stainless rods for you BD legs from an average hardware store or did you have to look around a bit. I want to swap my Slingerland legs with something I can grind spikes into to prevent walking.

Actually I used my iPhone. As for the legs I found them at an Ace hardware store, I just brought the cymbal holder with me. I was also thinking of grinding it to a point.

Cool vids. I watched a few of them and you have some really nice gear! Nice tour of each kit.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Thanks! I've been trying to review all if my kits, so that I can always look back on YouTube if I ever sell or trade one. Also I usually see videos of guys just playing vintage kits, I'm posting what I would like to see in more vids.
Up next is either my 80's rocker II or a Japanese kit, I'm still working on restoring my '64 Clubdate, which is my namesake and the one that started it all.

I think I personally would clean them, fix them and play them. Don't even fix the chips in the hoops.
I'm a Land-Rover guy and often having a few dents and scrapes makes the trucks more attractive than prestine (although I apreciate both). These are like your favorite pair of jeans- too many rips and paint spills to wear for a night on the town, but they just feel RIGHT and will never be thrown out.
You got the "Levi's 501" drum kit right here. Enjoy it!
