Yes,I would also be interested the know how many of these Kits were made,But also how many were imported to the UK,Reason is i have just got hold of one these Kits, and i really would like know much more about the History of them,Many thanks.
Not many of these kits were made, and not a lot of them sold as others have stated. It was supposed to be a special kit for the 75th anniversary of Ludwig. My guess, and it is just that a guess, is that there were at least one kit made for every Ludwig dealer as a promotional tool for the 75th anniversary. Others have stated that a lot were returned because the inlay was coming out, and the unsold ones were most likely recovered in another finish, so someone may have one of these and not even know it. Bill Ludwig III is probably the only one left around that may be able to shed some light on it, or possibly a major endorser of the day, such as Bun E. since he is a vintage collector and a Ludwig guru himself......yes, yes, I know these really aren't considered vintage yet.....
My dad has two for sale if anyone is interested
you have two kits or two drums? either way i'm interested as I have a kit now.
