Got some Sonor teardrops

Loading...

Thanks to the generosity of Amosguy (Drumforum.org member) I got another one. This one is going to the cymbal holder bracket.

Someone tried to jam it somewhere and damaged the initial threads. After a pass with an M6 die it's back in working condition. The BD is now completely original. :D

To finish this project here's what I am missing.

one of these for the floor tom.

and the thumb screws and lever for the snare.

Let me know if you have some!

Glad the die fixed the screw. Figured it would work well. Hey, the price was right! :2Cents:

Enjoy them and glad to help out. I'll keep an eye out for the last screw.

What kind of snares are you using? Could you post some pictures showing in more detail how you tied them to the strainer? I got a snare of the same kind but mine has some holes in those mobile metal blocks found on each side and I passed the ends of the snare tightening cords through them, but I have 'normal' Pearl snares on right now. I wonder how the original ones looked like and how they were mounted.

I used 'regular' snare wires and tied'em over the brackets. Here's how the originals look like.

This is really awesome. When I saw the first picture, I couldn't imagine how beautiful they can be.

Great work, sir!

Cool thread. I'm amazed at the results, both in terms of looks and (especially) sound. Great playing, by the way.

Green with envy on all counts!

just found this thread and have been amazed more and more while looking through it. GREAT WORK!!!!! Clapping Happy2

i have a student that has a teardrop kit that he inherited, same sizes, same color, but only the kick and the 13", but he has some nice "bongo toms" (?)- 3 metroc sized toms ( around 6"-8"-10") on one stand... he is on the case refurbishing it as well, i guess i'll email this to him :-)

I know it probably isn't what you're looking for, but anyway...?
