Today I managed to finally re-thread my BD spurs and unstuck the left locking washer.

now it goes up:

Got the 2nd locking wedge. Glue the metal plate on top just like the other one. The wedge had a small bump on the side and I just filed that to make it a bit more flat.

The BD tom post receiver was dented at the edge. Those dents were big enough for the tom post to get stuck there.

filed those dents away and now the tom post just slides freely.

Managed to finish my "Custom" strainer lever. Got a thicker 10mm aluminium shaft, drilled a 6mm hole for the strainer shaft to fit into and cut a 4mm thread to hold things up.

Also got an old Sonor key that came in handy to reassemble the strainer!

This morning I got a sonor's 50's cymbal tilter. The cymbal holder on the BD needs an 8mm shaft, and luckily I had one, but the tilter receiver is only 6 mm. So after some filing and finding a proper large metal washer, a felt, a sleeve, a wing nut and a leather washer I got this:

all together now:

It works. It's stable and you don't have to tight it too much to hold a 22". The only drawback is that the cymbal is a bit further away than I usually have.

Remember all those holes from the wood eating bug on the BD and FT shells? Initially I filled those with some wood filer but the color was no match. Here's the BD at that time.

So today, I managed to mix my colors (almost right) and painted all those white spots. It looks much better now.

here's the FT before and after:

Today I got those parts that I was missing to complete the 13" Tom. I didn't have much free time but just before dinner I manage to finally hear the drum. I still have to take it apart to clean the "new" hardware but for now it sounds great. It really came alive with the reso head on.

Here's a quickie:

ps: note the blur of excitement! :D

In order to finish this project here's what I'm missing:

The longer is for the BD cymbal holder and I need two of the the shorter one for the FT legs.

I'm still missing the snare lever and the two thumb tension screws.

If any of you have this for sale please let me know. Thanks!
