Those appear to be covering the factory locations for the L-arm cymbal holders. The cymbal holders have been moved post factory to different locations. One of the re-located holders looks to shows signs of poor drilling inside the bass drum (wood splitting on bit exit).

Yes, the one you put up. It's not behind the stand, it is a horizontally installed oval attached with a grommet that is centered between the lugs in that panel showing in both pics. Yours has the badge, Buddy's does not.

What "stand"? There has been no mention of a stand covering anything up to now. I assume you are talking about the the FT Slingerland Serial Number Badges (detailed in my earlier post) not being visible in the shot I posted from the Kraft Show? Assuming that's what you are referring to, I just assumed that the toms were turned 90* and were out of camera shot. I have a copy of the entire show in storage which I am going to get. It has a lot more footage of the kit (I think in the round) with he and Bobby Darrin running around the stage. When I track it down I will post some more stills.

Am I the only one who sees a cymbal stand in the foreground of the FT ? There also appears to be a mic stand/wire or something too.
There are more Slingy badges without serial numbers than with, so stop calling it a serial# badge. We have a clue here at VDF.
I apologise for the wording, discussing the minutiae of drum sets publicly is new to me and I am not familiar with all of the nomenclature.... kind of like going on a gun site and calling a magazine a "clip', I guess.
Just for my own edification, did Slingerland start putting serial numbers on their drums in a specific year, or was it just sporadic throughout their history?
Slingerland began using serial numbers in October 1962 and contrary to the beliefs of some they are not sporadic or random at all. And just for the sake of clarity; in your first post you mention certain naysayers claiming "Buddy never played with that style of badge on the bass drum". Are you referring to the BR logo on the reso head of the bass drum?
Yes I am....when I referred to the initials as a "monogram" in one of my internet searches, on the REMO site, I believe, it was referred to it a badge. Again, incorrect nomenclature on my part derived from another source.
What is your Buy it Now price on this set?

Why would Slingerland move the cymbal mounts if they don't have to ?
Who's been playing the other floor tom so much ? You can count on your hands how many times he hit that thing.
Why is the BD so much less faded than the rest ?
I don't mean to nag but if you are gonna put Buddy playing it, we will ask away.
