Scott, dont worry about hijacking the thread. It would be interesting to find out more about those wraps. Its a shame my wrap was all messed up. I have seen pictures of the xp8's in blue mist and they are beautiful. But I will settle for the veneer. Should get it today, if I do I will post a picture of it.

Can't wait to see that wrap. What a deal on those drums. Did you get all the memory locks, legs etc. ? Remember when I found mine on CL? I just love them. That's going to be a nice kit.

Yes actually I think I do remmeber that kit, post a pic and refresh my mind.

The drums were missing the floor tom leggs, bass drum leggs, the tom post and a couple hoops. I bought all the legs and the tom post from Bennettdrums. The missing hoops and rods are coming from drummaker.com. And I have bought a dynasonic strainer/butt and lugs (ebay) to go on a Keller shell also coming from drummaker.com. With the parts, veneer, finish and my parts to make the snare drum I will have about 750.00 in the whole thing except heads. What do you recomend for heads by the way? I have the orgional Rogers heads for the bass drum.

The koa veneer did come today, I love it! Now its going to be very hard to work on cabinets.

That's really cool veneer Jeff. Yes I can see it would be hard to concentrate on work with the veneer right there. Maybe ask the boss for the afternoon off?? :)

I might as well call my customer and tell him his cabinets are going to be a few days late. But then there is that money thing,,ya better not.

Wow you guys start early out there! Remember, Im self employed I have to do everything around here, design, build, finish, install the cabinets, clean the shop/truck pay the taxes, bid the jobs, collect the money, do the bookkeeping, stock the ref. drink the beer, take the naps, yep its all me. I need a nap now! lol!

I will have to blow a little lacquer on a small peice tonight and see how it look with just a clear coat.

Too bad we don't live closer. I've got three or four sets that within the next 4 to 6 weeks will get some of that unfinished PSA wood veneer I have... it would sure be nice if I could bring 'em by and just have you shoot them!

Is the finish on that veneer pretty smooth? Or does it have some grain depth to it?

Was looking at the paint job pics you did. Color was very nice. I'd imagine that's a hard finish to match being a shimmer wrap. Hard to get that effect. I ran into the same problem trying to paint the 13" shell I wrapped. Was trying to get a translucent white finish to highlight the grain in the shell. And then slight yellowed to match the other wraps. Yea didn't work out so hot in my case. Falling Do
