Rogers? Lugs? What?

Loading...

I have a FT that has these lugs on it as well. I am more concerned at this point with if the shells are Rogers. I get that the B&B lugs are weak and would have been replaced by now. I recognize the hardware as seemingly original Swivo-Matic and I just can't fathom someone taking apart a Rogers kit and using MIJ shells, unless of course the shells were trashed. How can I verify the shells? The silver sparkle looks to be correct for this age of drums.

Good photos of the ineriors and drums would be a good start to verifying them to be Rogers. Paper tags inside? My bet is that they are Rogers and someone replaced the lugs. They may have the rounded or even flat edges. My sense is that your wrap is probably original, but just can't tell from the photos you posted so far.

I agree with him too my point is if there was redrilling and it was done wrong then the kit can not be put back to speck and there fore is not worth much except as a players kit.

Just throwin this out there. I have matched up the generic Pearl beavertail bass drum lugs with a b&b bass drum w/o any drilling or mod. The Pearl smaller tom lug holes (1.5" c to c) do match up but the holes would need to be enlarged for the lug posts to fit into the shell. Anyway, there MAY have been an older MIJ lug that matched up but I'd ask to see some pics with 1 lug per shell pulled to be safe.

Top of the shell painted grey, don't think they're Rogers, someone is pulling your leg....

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
