Here is the rest of the curve ball....all the rest of the lugs are the same. Both toms and the bass. The snare is the only one with "seemingly" correct lugs.....

The shells seem legit. Can't see the labels. There are rerings and sans rerings. Both appear to be present. It's a strange kit, for sure. If you are asking "is it worth the Luddy trade"...yes. But, you should get the lowdown on this kit prior to walking in unarmed. Just a thought. Deception is a strange and unusual foe. The root is not always open and easily identified. A bit of homework is the prudent and wise move.
rack time
This should tell all.....or more, at least....

Hi All,This is what i think..I will go by the photos,#1 bass drum has A.C lugs on them made by pearl..Photo #2 of snare Lugs to me look like 1960s Pearl snare lugs the rogers B.B. lugs did not have the extra piece on the side of lugs,Rogers B.B. lugs are rounded at sides...Photo#3 [of inside snare drum, shell is a rogers but the muffler is not again 60s japanese made one...Photo#4 of out side of snare wrong strainer again some inported made one...As for the A.C lugs on the drums, they will not match up to the rogers holes,so ia'm guessing the holes have to had some work on them to make the lugs fit to the drums...Just my :2Cents:Mikey
Rogers B&B lugs cracked on any application, not just the snares, period. Someone got creative and got the cheapest replacement lugs they could to fix them, or had a set of stripped down Rogers shells and decided to put them back together with, again, the cheapest lugs they could find. There probably are extra holes to accomplish this as there really isn't anything out there with the same bolt pattern as the B&B lugs, except Jim Petty's EXPENSIVE reproductions. Same goes with the snare throwoff.....someone couldn't see spending the money on a proper Rogers replacement, so they bought a generic Gibraltar type throwoff. If they are legitimate genuine Rogers shells, I'd lowball the person on the price to get them as they are worth a whole lot less with incorrect hardware and extra holes, but at least they are useable good sounding drums. It would cost a fortune to put them back to the way they are supposed to be, so if the intent is to restore them back to original, keep this in mind as you'll never recoup your costs if you try to resell them. At least right now in today's market. Maybe someday down the road......but now it would be a bad investment. However, if its done for the love of the drums and you plan to restore them to keep, and you don't mind spending a ton of $$ to do so.......feel free. :p
Again, I remind you that it is worth the trade. But, there needs to be some explanation about the lugs. LD is correct. You need to check out the holes carefully. This is just strangeness. If the holes are goofy, you may want to steer clear. The remaining original swivo stuff and the shells are worth the trade. But, if the holes are odd, the shells may be a bust. Ask the tough questions first. He needs to have some sort of explanation. Could be nothing more than these lugs were put on another 'better' set of Rogers shells. Who knows. But, Lucy needs to 'splain dis mess.
Hi Guys. mcjnic, there is something very fishy with the drum you showed in the photo. The lugs are not correct as previous posts noted. Be sure they didn't drill out the holes. I can't figure out the vent that is seemingly on the top of the bass drum. I would need to see more photos to get a better idea.
Jonnistix....Those are replacement lugs as well. I would need to see more of the drum to get a better idea as to what's going on.
I attached some photos for reference as the pictures in the Rogers Book may be a bit hard to see.
There are two types (make that 3) of b&b lugs from the era you are talking about that one would see on a snare drum....
The older Holidays would have the larger, bass drum size lug. Could also see the flat top lug as well.

The larger lugs graduated to the standard snare size lug that most folks are familiar with....

Rogers also experimented with a cast b&b lug before going to the beavertail design. I have only seen the cast b&b on Luxor snares. I think that was their attempt to correct the fragile b&b that would be even more prone to blowing out on a 6 lugger. These cast b&b lugs will not blow out.

Hope the photos helped.
I agree it is a hacked up set but the key telling piece would be the badges inside seems like a rogers set with aftermarket lugs put on for some reason if so then there are extra holes and if this was not done right there might be the chance they can not be fixed properly making the kit not worth much.. i want to see the badges and or a bearing edge should be round on a B&B kit

I state again....B&B lugs crack. This is why they must have been replaced, no other reason. Unless the kit was stripped to the shells and parted out and someone bought just the shells and attempted to reassemble....thats my other reasoning.....either way, B&B lugs in good shape are hard to find and expensive as are the steel reproductions. Someone went the cheap way out to make a kit usable again.........
I concur with L/Dude regarding the lug switchout. My grandfather's B/B set had many broken lugs, and he replaced most of them with early Radio King lugs, peeled plating and all.None of the holes matched up,but when ya gotta work....Those bass lugs are MIJ-I have some here, even though the insert is 1/4-20!
