Guys, the snare wasn't up for debate. Those I got. It's the lugs on the rest of the kit that has stumped me. Please take a look at 'em and weigh in. Thanks.
Rogers? Lugs? What? Last viewed: 31 seconds ago
Is this or is it not Rogers? I've looked this pic over (and a few others) and cannot put my finger on this one. It looks like Rogers, but I've never seen those lugs on a script kit. Input?
Hi All, That lug in question,is a Mr.Coopers[see my postings on "oldest pearl set].He used these lugs on his Amercan Custom drums from 1969--1974 he had these lugs made by Pearl for his line of drums--he wanted to copy [cross like] a rogers b/t lug and a slingerland lug to use on his sets...Mikey
Why would a Mr. Rogers lug be on a Coopers kit??? ... wait ... that's not right.
Why would a Mr. Coopers lug be on a Rogers kit???
Now I want to ask this: The snare is B/B, correct? So it would follow that the rest of the kit should have B/B if it is original. And since there is a considerable amount of evidence that the old B/B lugs gave out on a very regular basis, could these be all correct, old shells, with replacement lugs? Even if the lugs are not correct, they could be replaced with the correct ones, no?

Doesn't make sense. The bnb lugs went out on the snares more often due to the extra tension needed for the heads. The snare would be the drum that would need replacement lugs first.
Hmmmm
Dang...always got my foot in my mouth. I will be glad when that disease is finally cured......

Maybe they are the MIJ copies as well? I have three snares....oh, nevermind...you seen 'em before...and they have those b/b copies.

...and THAT's precisely what's bothering me about this kit. What the heck are those lugs doing on a Rogers kit???
Well, ya know, if they sound good...what diff can it possibly make? These would be 3ply? 6 ply? they have re-rings, so they should be 3ply, no?
