I'm moving!!

Hi all!

I can't believe this is happening, but I'm moving soon! It all happened really fast! An opportunity came up to buy a really nice place closer to my girlfriend. She purchased a house in Calimesa, but is almost 60 miles from me. The new house is also in Calimesa, only 2.5 miles from my girlfriend. Think of all the gas I'll save! The owner accepted my offer and we're going into escrow. How fun is that?!!! I've been working hard to get my place straightened up so the photographer can get pictures. This is just so much work! I'll be 66 in March and I figure I better move now while I still have some strength left in me for packing! LoLoLoLo

My parents bought our house brand new in December, 1955. My sister and I bought out my two brothers after my parents passed away. This has been "home" for a long time and I'll will dearly miss it. But, it's time to move on and I'm excited!

Besides all the "normal" house stuff to pack up, I've got all my computers and hardware, stereo equipment...and ALL MY DRUMS! You've seen my drum room! Plus about 20 more snare drums and two kits that reside in other rooms! Oy vay!

While the new house is quite a bit larger than my current home, there is no single room for a "drum room". Not quite sure how this will play out. But, my girlfriend is resourceful and I'm sure we'll think of ways to display my drums!

I'm overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done in the next 30 to 45 days. Wish me luck!!!

Good for you, Mark.

If you guys really dig each other, then it's the right move! Start looking for boxes.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Mark - Congratulations and best of luck with your move ! I can't imagine the amount of work involved - you're a better man than I ... whew !!

Calimesa is a nice area - I used to drive thru there on a regular basis back when I had a cabin up in the high desert (29 Palms).

Keep us posted - Maybe you'll have a moving sale ?

I'm up in Ventura county less than 100 miles from you ;-)

Good luck Mark! Your one of the good guys around here, so all the best to you.

I'm still in my first house since I'm married and I can't even picture packing up and leaving. It's a daunting task, especially as we get older. But I can tell your adrenalin is pumping, so that will see you through. Hey, let us know if you have a moving sale!
