Hi Jeff! Really glad that I was able to inspire you! I'm taking a break from taking down my drum room and listening to 60's and 70's music on my stereo! This is all actually really sad for me. I spent a lot of time getting the "drum room" to this state and now everything has to come down. I won't have a room this large to devote to dedicated "drum room" at my new place, but it will actually become a "drum house"! Maybe that's better? Only time will tell!-Mark

I like the idea of a drum house!

I mean, my father hated hearing men say that some small room in a corner of the basement was their "man cave". He said the whole house was his man cave!Laughing H

Nicely packed up Mark... Nice sound equipment.. Technics were the ants pants down under for many years. I worked for Dual T/T distributor so I have a couple of 505 belt drives & also a Hitachi direct drive. Have extra head shells with Shure M75 & V15 IV cartridges & a NAD moving coil. My equipment Is a crazy mix NAD, AMC, Nakamichi, Sunfire, Boston Acoustics, JBL KEF, B&W, Yamaha & Onkyo.

I worked for OZ Distributors for each of the above brands & many more,

I was a compulsive buyer back then... & had access to lots of good deals.

Cheers

John

John!

I'm still working on the room as I type this! There's just so much to pack up!

I loved the stereo scene from the 70's and early 80's! My "vintage" system consists of:

Allied 498 Receiver (a repackaging of the Pioneer 2500sx)

Dual 1219 TT with a Shure M95ED cartridge

Teac A-250S cassette deck

Teach A-1250 RR deck

Realistic Optimus-6 speakers, completely gutted with vintage Jensen SG-220 coax speakers installed.

I've got pictures of everything, but they need to be re-sized for VDF.

Update 2-25-20

After having my house on the market for only 2 weeks, I accepted an offer and the house is now going into escrow! I'll probably be out in about 30 days or so! So much to do, but at least I started on the drum room some time ago and I'm almost done!

Showing of my house was by appointment only and I was here for each one. So much work to keep my house "showroom ready" all the time! Sure am glad it's over!

The difficult part was that I received two offers within about 24 hours of each other, both for the same price...which were more than my asking price! I really liked both families and it was very difficult to decide who I would sell to. However, in the end, I had to make it a business decision, while keeping personal feelings out of it. Have any of you been faced with this same issue?

Yes, but from the other side. We made an offer on a house, but our offer was contingent on selling our current house. Another buyer walked in with cash! They took the other offer of course. Who walks around with $350k cash?!!

Bitter?! Not me! Okay, a little, but when the dust settled, we reasoned that we would have done the same. You’re right - it’s business.

Hi all!

Here's the latest update for 3-24-20...

My new house closed escrow today and the keys were given to my girlfriend, since I'm at home packing! The painters came in this morning to freshen up the house and my girlfriend says it looks great! The carpet/flooring people start tomorrow and will be done by Friday.

My house closes escrow tomorrow and the new owners did their final walk-through today and are very happy with the house.

I'm renting a 20' Uhaul truck tomorrow to move all my drums (way too many!), stereo and computer equipment. I just don't trust my precious items with the movers!

Finally, the pro movers will be here Friday morning to get the rest of my stuff moved...and then I can start my new life!!

I haven't even ordered TV and internet yet! And, I'll still need a new washer and dryer. At least my girlfriend is only 2.5 miles away, so I'll be using her computer and washer/dryer!!

This nightmare is almost over!!

For us it went by quick. I am sure for you it felt like forever. Smart to move the collection on your own. Looking forward to pictures of the new drum den.
