I'm moving!!

Loading...

Thanks to all of you for your support! I've been really busy getting my house ready for pictures. The realtor and photographer are coming over this Thursday. Spent the better part of the day cleaning my kitchen. So much work!

My drum room is usually neat and tidy and looks great right now. The realtor's son plays drums, so I'm sure she'll love seeing the "drum room"!

And, yes, I'd love to have some type of "sale", but not sure how it will play out. Escrow closes around the middle of March. My birthday is March 16, so I may be moving as I turn 66!

Update! Just checked my email and received the revised escrow paper changing from a 30-day to a 45-day escrow, which will now close on March 16. Happy birthday to me!

I moved last year, closer to work. Was traveling an hour each way and the 100 hours/week in the summer was grueling with that drive on top of that!

I rented a climate controlled storage unit for a month for all of my collection. Since we used a local moving company due to my back issues. I didn’t want anyone moving my drums but me. Worked out great!

Good luck! It is a ton of work but well worth it!

schmegeggie! Wow, you were driving quite a distance before your move! Glad to know you're now closer to your job.

Trust me, I won't be letting the movers touch my drums! Fortunately, I saved all the boxes I used to move all my snare drums when I moved back to my parents house. I also have cases for the majority of my kits, too.

The new house should be available to me before I have to move from my current home. I'll be able to take some time to move all my drums, computers and stereo equipment. I'm thinking a 14-19 foot U-haul will do the job in one trip. The movers can take everything else!

Right now, I'm thinking I'll just wait to get settled in the new house before I start selling drums again!

Congratulations and of course Good luck !

I know what you are going through, I have been packing up the drum collection to get my house ready to be on the market. Unfortunately I have completely filled a 10x12 climate controlled storage space from top to bottom and front to back and still have the "best snares and kits" still in the house.

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

Update!

My house went up for sale on Realtor.com last night! The photographer took good pictures, too! My girlfriend and I watched him use a drone for all the overhead shots! He also took great pictures of my drum room! The decision was made not to include them online, for safety reasons, and I agreed. I will be getting those pictures and will post them on this forum!

I'm at my girlfriend's, just 2.5 miles from my "new" house. Having both an inspection and appraisal done today...at the same time! Should be fun!

2-13-20 Update!

Received an offer today for my asking price...and I accepted! Wow, less than a week to sell! Now the fun begins...packing up all my stuff! My Drum Room alone is going to take time. At least I have boxes for the majority of snare drums! Attached are the pictures that the photographer took. Looks like he may have used a wide-angle lens! His advice, which I took, was not to upload these pictures to the MLS website, as I shouldn't advertise to the public what resides in this room!

Mark,

Congrats on the sale!! Definitely a smart move not putting the pics in the listing...No need to advertise what you have!! Only on here may you do that!!

Beautiful collection of drums BTW...

Cheers
