Had some nicer pictures of the custom snare case done. These are now a regular item and can be ordered through my site. Not for everyone I know but....

Each case if hand made from a heavy weight leather and can be dyed to your choice of about a dozen colors.

And now for something a little different. I do a lot of work in the fife and drum communities and I was asked to make some leather fife cases for two piece fifes because of the leather work I do. I know it isn't really directly drum related but wanted to share anyway. These are cases made of a lighter weight leather than what I use to make ears or cases and dyed in a number of different colors. Some have names tooled into the strap and other have hand painted Celtic knots (I seem to get a lot of requests for those.) and the price on those varies depending on the complexity of the knot.

I was also able to do some in the alligator tooled leather in fade colors

And solid colors

And a cool feature on the belt loop on the back. I added a pocket for credit cards or ID.

Those are just basic acrylic paints. They work better on a head that is going to be hit by hand or stick. Oils don't hold up as well.

Matt,

Your leather work is incredible. I'm surprised you're not doing custom work for all the Harley guys out there. I love the fife cases. Any chance a standard piccolo would fit in there? If so, we need to talk.

Mike, I am also making cases for single piece fifes. I am also working on a leather case for marching snares (going to be in the $400 range for a 16x16), bag pipe cases and a few others. If a piccolo won't fit in one of the current cases I can always make to order.
