And for what it's worth, the new silver sparkle (not glass glitter) is virtually identical with the old 60s one except for the texture. Get a couple of samples, leave them out in the sun....you're sorted.

Good Idea Antipodes on getting samples, could even use them to make the plugs! I figure might as well try it because Its about the best thing other that having a giant plate made, and that would look worse.

I installed the 10 new lugs last night. The 12 and 14 are only needing mufflers and correct bottom hoops. I will be getting one muffler in a day or two.

Pics of the two nearly complete drums.

Big thank you to Stallwart for shipping me a muffler. He even covered the shipping. So Steve, what can I do for you??

Tonight, put base drum together as far as I can, install new muffler in the 14". That is if I can stay awake past 8:00.

Thank you!

I need a silver sparkle floor tom to complete my kit. I am using a 73 Gretsch floor tom with mine. It is a Jasper shell though. So they are all the same shells and close in age. Yours look really nice.

Great job so far! Please post some details and pictures when you start your plug repair. From seeing your previous work, I can't wait to see how this repair turns out. Those are some beautiful drums!

Thanks,Randy

Thanks guys. I am going to get the wrap companies to send me some silver sparkle samples to compare with. I need an inlay for one hoop and some plug material so I hope it will be close. Otherwise I will beg members for a small scrap piece of vintage wrap. It will be a long time before this gets done, I have so much real work to do its not even funny. Got the lugs and spur mounts on the bass drum last night, still need to install Stallwarts muffler. I need a 20" batter head for the bass drum, any suggestions?

Thank you!
