What would make this kit worth $4000???

Loading...

From TheElectricCompany

I emailed to ask what he thinks makes them worth $5,000. I'm not expecting a response.

Supposing he's a real seller, reality's probably catching up to him. I told him by the looks of the floor tom his asking price is probably $4,100 too high.

He says they used to belong to Ringo. Must be getting sick of skeptical responses and inquiries. What a loon.

I've been emailing this guy every since this add came out and he is responding to me, still hasn't given me an address so i can come take a look at it. i told him i have the money and will buy it if it is all factory original and in as nice shape as the add photo shows. he finally sent me a picture of the snare that supposely came with the kit. ill include it at the end of this post. its a supra, i think. by telling him i had the cash to buy his kit, i thought it would persuade him to send pictures of the whole kit as i have asked, but he hasn't. only pictures i have gotten so far are the ft and snare, and he points out that they both still have the original "skins" on them. i am still unsure about the whole deal. especially since i told him i have the cash and want to buy his kit but he has not taken the bait yet. im gonna send another email stating i have the 4000$ cash and want to buy the kit, when and where can i come pick it up. we'll see what he has to say to that.

adding snare and floor tom. what do you all think?

Robyn,

He’s “staying wiggly” that is for sure. The ad keeps getting reposted. There was a person a few years ago who would post some “troll” ads in Cleveland, but they were much more entertaining. The best one was for a really old and super valuable Stratocaster, and had that days Plain Dealer newspaper in the pics for proof that it existed. The story was cleverly written too...he was an old blues man and wanted to pass along the guitar to a worthy young player. They could come and play for him and if they had the mojo it was theirs. I wish I had saved the ad. This guy on the other hand...who knows what his deal is???

Let me add he was really old

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Really? I figured for sure they were a "troll", just some collector wanting to show off pictures of his prize guitars and get the gear heads buzzing... I guess it's a double reverse troll.

Or maybe...he really is a serial killer. He gives away a guitar or two, then word gets out that the ads might be real, then people start showing up and...bonk on the head.

I have emailed this guy 3 times telling him I have the money and wanted to buy his kit. I asked for his address and a phone number. have not heard back from him. last email I got was the one with a picture of the snare I posted above. I pretty much gave up trying to talk to him. he is a scammer, that's all there is to it, just a scammer. and even if he isn't I wouldn't buy from him, he is not being honest at all.

I guess I just don't get it, does he just want attention? What is he gaining by placing a false add? Help2

I don't really care, and I don't want that kit, it just makes me wonder what is in it for him? There has to be some motivation because he has refreshed the ad regularly for several weeks now.Hmmmm

is there a new link to his ad, the one i click on says it has been flagged for removal.

What really has me scratching my head is that he has almost perfect feedback and has been with eBay since 1998. He sure sells a ton of Kenner related items! And then you have this one Ludwig kit! Just so odd that Robyn has messaged him and is ready to buy after inspection. I just don't get it!
