Guys....how about this scenario......the guy now selling them is not completely upfront about where he got them (basically telling stories about being the original owner), so he decides to use the pics of the drums from the UK website he bought them from, because, well, the drums are the actual drums and are now his and he is being lazy about taking new pics because maybe he's not as good a photographer as the original photographer was, and he is asking such an extreme price because he paid too much for them and is trying to recoup his money for both the drums AND the cost of having them shipped over from the UK.

Possible, yes. Likey & probable......no.

What could he possibly gain from having a fake add? I don't get why someone would do this. He won't get any cash without producing the kit.

From Mr.Toast

Here is a CL post that showed up here in OH a few days ago...https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/msg/d/vintage-original-ludwig-red/6663331652.htmlThe ad mentions a SNAR (I can only assume they meant a SNARE), and a few other bits, but the picture shows only the 2 toms and bass drum. I thought it might be fun to speculate as to what that snar and other bits might be like in order to justify the $4000 price. My first thought...the bass drum is filled with meth.

Don't forget, it comes with a stool! Toilet

Maybe I should of kept the sale price to my self , but when museum quality drums come around as in never ! you can get the fair price for them ...verses a players kit , or one frenken up....

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I completely agree with this. I believe we've made levity of it (the Cuyahoga Falls drums thing) because it's what most of us would never pay but when one has plenty 'o money, it's the highest bidder. Keep on Pl
