'Don't drill the virgin!' LOL
Gotcha, I'm leaving it as-is.

John, Ludwig made a "clipper" hoop mounted tom mount. That's always a option. a lot of weight bouncing on your bass hoop though. Or just use a snare stand. :D
There's a pic of it on Mark Coopers site in the section with mounts.

Snare stands for me... I would never use a clipper on this kit. Like you said, too much weight bouncing around on the hoop.
Virgin is fine and what I had intended anyway. I just thought somebody might make a convincing argument for using the rail. Didn't happen! lol

I cannot imagine that there could possibly be a good reason to install a rail mount John. I'll avoid a fight and keep my opinions of rail mounts to myself.
1 BD Hoop done, 1 to go! Photos of the completed bass drum soon... the kit is looking out-of-this-world awesome.
Stay tuned...

Sounds like my inlays are going to fit,,,right???
Jeff - the inlays have been in since Saturday night. What's holding up the 'show' is I'm applying two coats of poly to the hoops and I had to sand in-between. Just waiting for the poly to cure, then I'll pop em on the bass drum and shoot some pix.
The inlays are fine... I'm glad I thought to ask for them! They match the shells perfectly! Clapping Happy2Clapping Happy2Clapping Happy2

Take it easy with that poly! You dont want to be the guy that thinks several coats of poly is a good thing,, or you will end up with this,,
