Ok, here's some shots of the drums. I just have to finish the hoops for the bass drum and the kit is ready to play. As soon as I get the J-fest back from Jeff, I'll post some shots of the drums set-up and ready to Rock.

The kit came out KILLER! Thank you Eric, for the project kit, Jeff for the amazing veneer job and my buddy Mike Layton for his help securing some parts. 'Group effort!' I think it all paid off, these drums look amazing.

9"x13", 12"x15", 14"x22" ten-lug bass drum w/matching *Jazzfest (*coming soon!)

????? It's a 10 lug drum, I used all ten lugs. The angle of the photo may be deceptive, but there are 10 lugs on that thing! I'll finish off the hoops this week-end and post finished photos of the bass drum soon.

Nice work on the shells, Jeff. The drums look like a million bucks! Can't wait to add the J-Fest to the set-up.

Eric, thanks again for a really great project kit! The shells, the sizes, are all perfect. If I was still working with the blues band, this would be my go-to gig kit. Easy set-up and tear-down and those aged 3-ply mahogany shells are going to make for a very warm sounding set of drums. I know that you wanted to put this kit together for yourself. I hope seeing what I've done with them gives you some satisfaction, knowing how great they turned out.

Thanks again, buddy!

Mike,

Thanks for the help securing the legs and mounts for the floor tom! They look great on there, don't they? I love those 12"x15" floor toms, perfect size!

Yes, I agree, I don't say it often either, but inside and out, this kit looks like it just walked off the factory floor. What made it possible is the condition of the hardware that came with the already stripped shells. The hardware is in A-1 condition and when I matched it up with Jeff's now '4-ply' recently veneered mahogany shells, MAGIC! The kit looks fresh/new, like right out of the box! I also love the vintage, antique look of the Club Date hardware against natural wood shells. Just killer man. The kit has 'MOJO' built-in!

Thanks for your help, Mikey-boy! Drums are looking good on this end.

John

PS - Those are air-cushioned feet on the floor tom legs. I put them on all my drums. The cushioned feet will not allow vibrations from the drum to dissipate into the floor. The drums resonate beautifully with these feet on them.
