Why do you say that? I say that because I don't think that is is.

Dirty raincoat on,....

Two thoughts,..one,... How much sloppiness would you expect from a drum factory on a final product ? Two,....in post 27 I see glue dripping from under the re-ring onto the shell interior, these re-rings were installed before drilling, cuz drilling is one of the things before assembly. Now if you look at the drill holes for the lugs, it appears as if the glue has seeped into an already drilled hole. Like the hole was there first and the drum was dis-assembled for repairs !!

That is 100% factory original, I can't even begin to mention how many wfl's and ludwig shells with that glue run off like this kit has. But very very many.

So your agreeing with me when I say they are the original thing. I mean i know they never went into the drum shop for repair because they have a different stamp that says REPAIRED by the drum shop. You have to remember this is 1958 and they didn't exactly have perfection back then.

The hole was there before the glue. A factory drill at 1,000+ rpm would not pull the glue into the hole on the way out !!

I state nothing as fact , But that hole was there before the glue !!

I bet you a million dollars your wrong. They glued it then they drilled it. Its a perfect match.

Their are a few things that have me stumped,The grommet on the 9x13 is buggered up as if removed and then reinstalled? I wonder why, also I stated I've never seen any wfl or ludwig with the stamped date metal stamped into the reinforcment rings? if I had the drums in front of me it would be a really big help.

What do you mean buggered up? It looks untouched to me. Its so hard to do this through pics. ALSO the mystery has been solved on the reinforcement rings. I found 1 other drum shop set that has them on there too. I am under the assumption that it something The Drum Shop did as a number system. There are many mysteries with this kit and its going to be fun to uncover them all.
