Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

From alot2008

This is a pic of the strainer on a ten lug Hoshino K snare that I recently bought. The strainer is very similar how ever the throw doesn't taper to a point, it is simply square. I think the shell is quite similar if not the same? This snare has some get up and go, I like playing it emperor batter head and all, considering I am wooden snare guy.

Thanks mate. I think functionally they will be the same and i think I now understand how it should work and why it's not working now. Thanks

Andrew

it's finished, or as finished as I can get it without replacing loads of parts. It's been a mission but it's now a good players kit. I tried to refurbish and retain as many original parts as possible (barring a few washers and one or two screws I have succeeded) but this means it shows its age with the remnants of rust pitting on the chrome and scratches and some discoloration to the wrap. Pretty good considering the starting point and I even worked out a fix for the snare throw.

Wow, nice job! I thought that for sure would've needed a re-wrap but it looks pretty damn clean now.
