Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

From thin shell

Here is the original auction.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gretsch-Round-Badge-16x16-Floor-Top-In-WMP-/143697700692?hash=item21750ce754%3Ag%3AKcAAAOSwa5ZfQ-p3&nma=true&si=ThzJ8fqWhZPolpK4AD6mp9c6fek%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Those legs are clearly sitting on the same drum. You can also see the Gretsch diamond mount leg mounts, the two muffler knobs, enough of the wrap to see that it is the same color and the head is not attached and the tension rods are in between the lugs. This guy is full of crap.

I agree, he's going to have a difficult time defending his statements once eBay looks at the pictures.

The buyer can still leave feedback after a case has been opened (and decided upon) however the link to leave feedback is harder to find. As others have said open an "item not as described" case and request a partial refund if the seller refuses to send the legs.

I did not realize that one can still leave feedback after a case was opened...I know that I have tried in the past and could not find the link to do so...Thanks for the info...

Cheers

It’s this posted seller picture that would insinuate to me that the legs were included.

They’re laying right on the drum itself.

I see you getting the legs or you’ll have to return the drum for a full refund. I’m guessing this is how eBay will want to settle this. It seems the seller probably won’t give money back for no legs so unfortunately I think it will be eat the deal with missing legs or get the full refund returning the drum. Not cool by any means of this seller but hope something gets settled and wish you the best.

123 transactions, and the seller has a 50% positive feedback rating! ! ! I've never seen on that low.

Sorry to say, but that was your first clue. I wouldn't even consider buying anything from a seller who has less than 97% positive ratings.

The one negative rating was mine, so technically, he was at 100% positive before that although he only had one rating.

Even if the legs weren't sitting on the same drum. If the legs weren't included in the auction/sale, why would that picture even be there? Seller needs some better excuses.

Complete BS that the seller is trying to argue they weren't part of the sale.

He's had including yours, 6 negative feedback. 1 negative out of 123 transactions wouldn't alone give him a 50% rating.

Click on all feedback.

jda, feedback rating is based on the past 12 months, one positive and one negative is a 50% rating. You are correct that he has received other negative feedback in the past. Geez, he even received some negative feedback as a buyer. I don't think that is even possible anymore.

I had the same issue as you. I contacted eBay and they told me how to find the link. It was not completely intuitive and luckily I've only had to use it once.

And the saga continues. Ebay will not step in. they tell me I can return the drum for a full refund or stop complaining. A partial refund has to be worked out with the seller, who is telling me to do things I feel are physically impossible and morally repugnant. Oh well, I have given the Ebay folks all of the evidence you folks have seen here and I don't know what else to do. I can't find a set of original legs right now, so I ordered a set of Gretsch 9.5 mm 4939 legs and I will use them until I can find the right period-correct ones. Meanwhile, I ordered a set of American Vintage medium heads and Monday I will order the burgundy sparkle wrap and when it is ready, ship the drum to Jack Lawton to refinish. I am angry, but I want to move forward. Won't be buying from ebay for a while and remember kids: WHEN BUYING A FLOOR TOM, ALWAYS ASK IF THE LEGS ARE INCLUDED!
