Hello nokeithmoon do you have a Ralston snare?

or are you looking for one?

If it is just a six lug snare?

I won an eBay auction on a six lug wmp Stewart snare for $22.00

But paid 40.00 for a wmp Zim Gar 8 lugger from a guy on Craig's list here

My very first purchase, of a vintage Japanese drum kit

and really how I got bitten by the stencil drum bug

was my little orange sparkle Ralston shell pack (pictured)

bass, tom, and 14" floor tom (only the snare is a Decca)

On those, I answered a Craig's list ad for "10 assorted drum shells for $50.00"

so for just the 3 Ralston drums with the 1 Decca snare

my cost at five bucks a drum was only $20.00

Also in my collection, I have a blue sparkle Ralston snare drum

That drum came along with a matching bass drum (pictured)w/original Ralston bass drum head

I traded an old but decent brown vinyl upholstered drum throne for them

they came also with a vintage Ludwig Spur Lok hat stand

I later paired those two drums up with a "Gambal's import" 12"mounted tom

and 16" no badge blue sparkle floor tom

And this is so weird,...... just this afternoon,

I answered another local Craig's list ad

on some very dusty but super mint and all original Ralstons (pictured)

In a sort of hard to describe sparkle finish??

some see them as silver or maybe champagne sparkle?

But I think they look more like a beige beach sand sort of look

they are really nice, I got the bass w spurs, "Ralston" bass drum head,

with original cymbal post w small mij cymbal

and the tom mount, with the 12" mounted tom and matching Ralston snare drum,

also included was the original snare stand, kick drum pedal, drum keys and sticks

They were originally ordered back in the 60's (again without the elusive floor tom) ....I paid $25.00 for them

luckily on these I have a nice close matching 14" floor tom with a metal "Stewart" badge on it which I had hanging around the shop here

Of the three kits only the blue sparkle Ralston drums have double lugs

the others have the "Slingerland stage band" style lugs

(one center mounted lug with extra long T-rods)

These are fairly lite duty tubs with the re-rings but still just so cool looking

Last week, I bought some exact same, stage band style drums,

they have the thin foil "Stewart" badges

and are wrapped in a nice light blue marine pearl

just a bass, tom, and snare, once again with no matching floor tom

but they did come with a bonus white marine pearl "Kent" floor tom

it was missing one leg and one leg bracket, was absolutely filthy

and had two dirty, fairly rusted, hoops

..Man did it and the others clean up nice ............all of those drums were also only $25.00
