Can you tell me what you used to clean the shells? I have a black diamond pearl 65 super classic. I may also try the rustoleum on my pioneer bass drum that I am restoring (see other thread). I soaked the hardware in CLR for 3 or 4 days then used tarnex. I think there is a finish somewhere under there.
