I have secured the tom muffler, which is so fab that it made my day yesterday! I may have the necessary tension rods too (so I'm pretty stoked about that as well).

I have purchased two Tama spurs that are similar to the originals but a bigger diameter. I would have to have these turned down on a lathe and replated. Unless, anyone has a spare spur laying around. The basic straight rod type with threaded end. I'll upload a pic or two of what I'm in need of.

Thanks,

-Doug

Ok, still waiting for tension rods. I'm coming dangerously close to securing everything I need. I think I will have the spurs that I have reworked and rechromed. An extravagance, no doubt, but I've already gone whole hog on this thing ...

I still do need one bass drum tension rod. Just one! :)

Thanks to you all so far!

I picked up muffler parts like that here on the forum from 2manydrums. He may have more.

I think "Billy Blast Drums" has one on his web site. Was looking for some other parts, saw this and remembered your need.

Thanks CTMichaelIV,

Very good of you. I have already gotten the necessary muffler. Someone else may need it though.

Hi all ... this thread is suddenly rapidly coming very close to shutting down. Thanks to many friends and vintage forum members I have almost all of the required pieces to complete. I can't thank you fellas enough, and you know who you are. :-)

I have actually begun the "restore" (I guess its a restore once you start polishing lugs, right?).

I am still in need of a Star cymbal arm for the bass drum. If anyone has one, please chime in.

Doug,

That cymbal arm you need to finish off your restoration just so happens to be the most rare and elusive parts on all of vintage MIJ. From time to time, I have some and indeed have sold some to some members here.

I am about to get some more stuff in and may include some of these.

I will let you know if/when I score them.

Clarification - some identified and on the way....available soon. I will be in touch.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
