I only wish it wasn't so cloudy today! I took some shots last night in my living room by lamplight because I was excited to show it off. I wanted to take all outdoor shots, but it's been sleet and rain here all day. I got those two shots out on the porch and the light was good enough to show it off.

I'm going downstairs to open up the bass drum. I'll be looking for the gold W&A tag. If I find one, I'll take a shot of it.

Yes, I saw the pic, couldn't tell if that was a vent hole or what.

Jeff - Go back to the earlier pages of this thread. There are photos up of the badge, the gold tag and the serial number on the snare. No badges anywhere else on the kit. I'm about to open up the bass drum, I'll let you know if I find the gold W&A tag inside. I'll take a couple of shots to document it.

John yes I used a magic eraser on a calfskin bass head and worked very well. It removed a lot of stains and grime. I left it on the shell under slight tension. I didn't want it to chance it coming off the hoop. The head gets very loosey goosey from the moisture but dries out nice in a day or so. I used the magic eraser "damp". It left behind a nice aged look to the head. If there is a ink stamp on the head be careful it can remove it.

I've captioned the photos so they will be able to speak for themselves. This one is in the same general condition the snare was in, rusty, dusty and grimy from decades of storage. The long rods, clips and hardware will need the tumbler and buffer wheel treatment to bring them back. I think the NOVUS 3, 2, 1, will save the wrap.

The only issue I've found is a few inches of inlay wrap missing on one of the bass drum hoops. See photos.

neat stuff all around. I think that idea for the inlay is a good one.

I did something recently that you'd be real good at with your graphics background. I was assembling a sky blue pearl clubdate bass drum that I had been collecting parts for. had everything BUT hoop inlay, which can be real hard to find. so, I grabbed the digital camera and took a few photos of the wrap on the bass drum. picked the one that matched the best and printed a full sheet. I then covered the whole sheet with clear shipping tape,front and rear. gave it some thickness and some gloss. cut it into strips and used it as inlay. I think next time, i'll get some photo paper and do it that way. looked better than none at all. that's for sure. just food for thought. I don't think youre missing enough to even be concerned with.

Just checking this out. Wow ! That's really a nice looking unique wrap. Snare looks great ! Can't wait to see these all cleaned and set up.
