Hey Wayne..see that you have taken a peek at this kit also..you would be surprised to find out that this bass drum was by the same dumpster as the Apollo drums we have chatted about...the bass had the original calfskin heads intact but was in pretty rough looking shape..had been painted, missing hardware, rim busted etc. I saw the badge and the original manufacturers label inside and new I had to build a kit around this. badge dates it back to 1920-30

Good god heavenelvis,that is one amazing wooden hoops set of absolute beauty and to think that bass drum was in the same dumpster as the Apollo drums! They were just meant to come to you and for you to be there care taker for many years to come.I can see Levon Helm behind those drums,he would have loved them...
