The Biggest Drum Set You have played

Loading...

I just aquired the biggest drumkit I ever owned.I picked up a Ludwig octoplus+1 kit at a local pawn shop in black vistalite(non see-through:8 concert toms 2 floor toms,no snare though).

Oh yeah, the reason I call it a octoplus+1 is that it came with 3 bass drum's insted of the traditional 2.

Had a maple OctaPlus that I sold a while back. Still have an OctaPlus in Tequila Sunrise Vistalite. Also a Tempus CF set, same size, in Ferrari red.

The band I was in back in the '80s rented a 12 piece Pearl MLX a few times back in the day. My 9 piece Exports weren't big enough for these guys, and we played in a venue that had a stage large enough for a 12 piece.

While the 12 piece looked good, I never did hit every drum during those shows. I have an oddly configured 9 piece I play at home now, and it's hard to play every drum in one song. I usually gig with a one up, one or two down kit these days. I also just never could play a double pedal. It doesn't help that my kit is set up left-handed for a double pedal...

Holy shmoly! Looks more like the Milky Way!

Here's a quick composite - tricky with the camera angles.

I would be lost.
