Hey, guys:
Does anyone know anything about or has anyone tried the Rhythm Tech Active Snare System? The concept looks interesting at the very least. Thanks.

crap
put your snare money into puresounds.
I bought a snare recently that had them on it. didn't care for them at all, sound or looks.

The only use I have found for the set I bought in the mid-'90's is to place it on the top of a djembe to turn it into a low-volume folky-sounding snare. Works great for that.
On an actual snare drum, I did not like it. It's hard to dial in the correct amount of 'snap' vs. 'buzz'.
I'm with all of the above... they suck moose quoque!
John
My God, gentlemen!!! "crap"! "didn't care for them"! "did not like it" "suck moose quoque"! Perhaps, your comment was the harshest of all, John. Up here, in the North, sucking moose quoque is an unforgivable sin! I will never even look at one of these damnable contraptions nonetheless buy one!
Thanks, guys for your input.
Brian
Yes, I had 2 on 2 different occasions and the sound was dead-dry. I can't comment on the MQ, as I've never heard a MQ. The sound of Sound Percussion drums? A possible algebraic equasion- MQ <=SP.
I am a little confused, how do you guys feel about this thing?
I guess my experience is different than everyone else's ( which doesn't surprise me). I've been using it on a Ludwig LM400 for years. The drum sounds great and the guard over the snares protects them from damage.

Sir:
Since I started this thread, I feel I should respond to your anecdote. I congratulate you on having the fortitude to buck the opinions of some pretty heavy hitters here on the Forum. Good for you! This forum is made up of divers members with divers opinions. If you like the sound of these snares, then by all means don't be afraid to say so! There is room for everyone here.
Respectfully,
Brian
