Holy smokes! That is unbelievable. I've never seen such a vibrant aqua satin flame finish. Your work on this resto is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy those and watch out for nicks and scratches.

Thanks guys, they did turn out better than I expected. Initially I thought I'd need to replace the wraps because of how old and worn they looked.

Thanks for all the comments. I think they turned out very nice. I am glad I did not replace the wraps. I have shown them to my father since the clean up, he was quite impressed at how well 50 years of age came off.

GretschJazzMan: You know, I played Gretsch for 38 years. I Have restored many sets in my day, some came out really, really, nice, some not so nice.
What you have done with this set is just remarkable. I cant believe how GREAT your drums came out, they look like they have just left the assembly line from Gretsch building number 1 here in Brooklyn!!
My congratulations...you did a wonderful job.
