new snare day

Hi folk,

I picked up this snare on eBay for very little scratch. Complete with the exception of muffler. Would this be Star or Pearl? Casings look more Star to me. What muffler might have been on it?

Thanks!

-Doug

Neither Star nor Pearl, but the other Hoshino would be my best guess.

Hoshino Kougyou that is.

Thanks for that neorich. Where might I might find more info on that brand/manufacturer? I'd love to see some pictures of different snares by them. Thanks.

grantro - I don't think it's a re wrap but I can't be sure until I receive it. I was surprised how good it looked too. Thanks.

CTMichaelV - I'm sneaky that way. Lately I've been looking at reverb.com too. Anywhere else I should be surfing? hehe

I'll post more pictures once it arrives.

Okay so it landed in my hands today. This thing is in good shape. Missing butt plate and strainer pieces and screws to hold snares in place. Missing muffler. The silver stripe is some sort of contact paper-like thing but looks cool and I'll likely leave it. Not bad for 15 bux plus shipping!

Can those little plates and screws be acquired somewhere??

Here's the screw holes where the muffler should be. Can anyone recommend an appropriate muffler? Thanks!
