I just picked up the gold sparkle Slingerland kit and here are the serial numbers:9x13: 18477010x14: 18324116x18: 18482714x24: 184864All very close, which is good. According to the serial number chart, it looks my drums were made around '74-75.

I concur DrumBob. Very nicely clustered serials and what can be seen makes sense. No earlier than mid '74 with the chrome inlay bass hoops (per Slingerland historian Dr. CJ Wenk). The large solid knob tone controls also rule out earlier 70's. 184xxx is expected for '75 but late '74 to late '75 is a safe range. Let us know how they sound. My prediction; thunderous!

Thanks. They do sound thunderous, and I was pretty sure they were 74-75. I can't wait to get them on a gig, but I'm off for the next few weeks. Gigs always slow down in January.
