From O-Lugs

Well what about if an audience member decides to turn the knobs due to the temptation of those knobs facing them? Ever think of THAT? NO???? Okay then! ....;) You could be right in the middle of the greatest version of Theme to Hawaii Five-O you've ever played and then some audience member sees those knobs, goes up and turns them FULL ON! *thup, thup thup" ...RUINED!!!

Maybe if we were playing a gig at the neighborhood daycare that could happen.baby crawl2LoLoLoLo

Yep... For that very reason, the knobs and tremolo arms on guitars should be facing the player--not the audience. Maybe the strings, too.

I never told you guys the story about the time I was playing some dump in Union County, NJ and on break, I hear some jerk banging on my drums. I ran to the stage and ordered him off the drums in no uncertain terms. The nerve of some people!

I have actually seen audience members trying to fiddle with guitar knobs while the band is playing. Unbelievable.

I just picked up the gold sparkle Slingerland kit and here are the serial numbers:

9x13: 184770

10x14: 183241

16x18: 184827

14x24: 184864

All very close, which is good. According to the serial number chart, it looks my drums were made around '74-75. I'll be setting them up tonight and hope to get some playing time in. If anybody with more information cares to chime in, please do.

I guess you guys that are worried about the position of the toms, well the only thing I see wrong , is the floor tom in the wrong position, should be on the left , why, I'm a left handed drummer, Haha
