Mike and Mark are correct...

Kona, on your key, there is single line script for the "L" and "G"...Now, check out the other key...You will see double line script...These two keys are of different eras...

Cheers

I'm sorry - can't see a 'double line' script on the other key. I've even zoomed in and what appears to be a double line looks to me to be the shadow on either side of the script lines in the L and g.

I mean.....I want it to be an older key....but I just can't get my head around it right now.

The 'script' on my key is worn a little thin from where I removed a lot of rust that was on it.

I'm out of town right now...When I get home this weekend, I will post some side by side pics of the 2 keys in question...There are differences in the 2 keys...

Cheers

Thanks for that grantro.

I'm not being stubourn about this - I just want to make sure I'm getting the right information for what I have.

I appreciate all the replies - as always.

Looking forward to viewing the differences. I can post better photos of my key as well if anyone is interested.

Here are some pics as promised...

The first pic is the group photo (The rest of the pics are the keys from left to right)

2nd pic is a 20`s era key

3rd pic is a 30`s era key

4th pic is a 50`s era key

5th pic is a 60`s era key

I tried to get the best shot possible of the engravings...This info is to the best of my knowledge...

Kona, your key is like the key in the 3rd pic other than the location of the engraving...These varied because of how the key was loaded into the press...

Cheers

Thanks for ding this.

I'm still thinking mine looks more like the 60's key. I would like it to be a 30's but I can't see it.

Mine only has the Skript on one side....the left ear as you see here.

Nice looking keys you have there.

Also, look at the left ear in both your key and my 30`s key...See how they have a sharper radius at the bottom of the key? My pic might not show it as good, but, it`s there...The 60`s version key doesn`t have this...

Cheers
