Hahahahaha. Why did I ever trade this drum set away? There was nothing wrong with it. I was simply in the "horse trading" mode back when I did this.

Well that sure is a beauty.

What did you trade for it?

I really am not sure. But, I know that I held back on trading away the canister throne until later. I think that I traded the WMP drums for a my 1963 Leedy Black Diamond Pearl set. If that was the trade, I really don't regret it because the Leedy set is my all-time keeper drum set. I think that I got another decent drum set for that throne.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Like many, I check in frequently, but I too am guilty of lurking and not posting much these days. For me, part of it was screen/keyboard fatigue from finishing out the school year remotely. Since then, my only excuse is a “Honey Do” list a mile long...and oddly messing around with old drums never seems to make the list.

That said, the VDF is still the only place to find people who get as excited as I do about old drums so I would be very sad if it were ever to go away.

If there were one thing I’d like to see changed, it would be the way pics are uploaded. I would post more pics if they didn’t always show up sideways. I do know how to do it, but those extra steps sometimes make the difference between sharing a pic and not.

I think many value the information and thoughtful exchange here at the VDF so let’s all do our part to keep it alive!

Stop stringing and tuning your instrument, make music now.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I am here and I check in a few times a week, but I don't see much going on with new posts. In the old days, if you were looking for a vintage drum or part, half a dozen people would chime in and you could find what you were looking for. Now days, most posts go unanswered.

Still here. Regretting selling my Camcos a couple years ago? Could I have retired to a hidden cabin somewhere if I had waited a bit sell them? :)

There was a time when mlayton was selling Ludwig snares like crazy here. Still have one of his, a nice '69 Supra!

From Hoppy

https://youtu.be/Dr9e0yGcQbkI check in everyday, but it doesn't mean there's much conversation going on...A lot of things have been talked to death, and this is a narrower focus of a already narrow subject.

This pretty much nails it. Info filled board, but there is a lot going on. Stay safe & healthy!
