Is Anyone Still Using This Forum?

I agree Hoppy. The subject of vintage drum forums has become akin to sword fighting forums (just not that many people into the subject left anymore). For the few people that remain interested, most of the nice vintage drum stuff got snapped up in collections a long time ago and it's been like scraping the barrel ever since. If it wasn't for Johnny Ringo and his flipping kits, there wouldn't be much to say about anything that hasn't already been said.

Still....I'm an old creature of habit and I continue to check in here just....because.

I'm still here. The learning process continues.

I've noticed the lack of action. I've posted a few things in the "Wanted To Buy" section and I am getting no responses. In years past, I would need the most random part and I would get numerous responses. Now I am asking for fairly common parts like Ludwig and Rogers, and nothing.

Hopefully, we're just in a lull. I think these things go in cycles..............there should be more action as we progress.

I check in daily. even if it is just to see pictures of drums or talk / read about drums.

Keeps it real for me and what is left of my sanity.

Still learning something new everyday.

Still here too though not nearly as often most of the action is on Facebook pages . Most forums have been way down in traffic as the FB pages got so popular not just vintage drums . A couple of others I used to frequent closed up shop because it just was not worth the expense .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

I check in almost daily, but I will say that this is usually the last place I rely on to post ads for drums that I'm selling. Just too hard to post decent pics. My pecking order for posting for sale ads is FB marketplace, FB manufacturer specific groups, Reverb, DFO, CL, then VDF. And I've sold two complete kits in the past 6 weeks, a half dozen kits in the past year, all shipped.

I agree with John, cannot post a pic any larger than an old flip phone picture. FB Marketplace and FB forums seem to be where the market moved to. There are good deals out there too! One must be vigilant!

I also think drum shows could have a huge comeback after this Covid crap is over.

I was at the Delaware show at the end of February, sold a nice Rogers kit and didn’t get Corona!

Drum Kits
1965 Ludwig Clubdate Oyster Blue
1966 Ludwig Clubdate Oyster Black
1969 Ludwig BB Blue Oyster Keystone Clubdate
