Hello and heres my project! 69 Ludwig Silver Sparkle

Nice find! Looks like a Downbeat kit, which is even better. By the way, the shorter L-rod goes with the small tom, and the longer one goes to the cymbal mount. Unless you want it the other way. Welcome

Yeah that looks kind of strange on the cymbal holder, great for pics but that'll fall apart when you play them. KUDOS, dude on the clean up. that is remarkable!

Currently working on a 7 piece virgin double bass 3 ply early 70's Ludwig kit to be wearing....MOD ORANGE.

What are the sizes? From that photo it almost looks like 12-14-18, in which case would be quite rare. Either way, great score/save from the gutter!

thanks gang!

I swapped the hardware back around after pics, mounted some heads last night and played them a touch.

Wow what a tone!

Sizes are 13,16,20.

I really want to add a 12 mounted and a 14 floor tom.

More Pics tonight, I forgot to upload them last night.

Im picking up my 70's Zildjian New Beat hi-hats tonight as well. So excited!

my zildjian guy bailed on me twice...damn craigslist time wasters.

I did retune all the drums and am VERY happy with them now. That tiny bass drum sounds great!

A strip o fabric front and rear and a ported front head gives the nicest tone, with just a bit of punch to it.

That 13" tom sounds great! What a rich bright sound.

My snare auction ends sunday, hope I win!!!

Man, wish my Keystone Silver Sparkles had those clear interiors instead of those crummy white painted ones that look worse every year - will never paint them though.

70s Slingy WMP
70s Ludwig Standard Aqua Mist
60s Ludwig Champagne Sparkle Downbeat
and a whole bunch of snares and hardware

i was amazed how clean the wood was inside! The bass drum has a bit of environmental staining but thats it!

Picked up some Gel Gloss polish for the shells.
