Cleveland Rogers Surprise! (and-a-half!)

Whats the exact name of the graffiti remover spray? I have an old red sparkle wooden powertone snare that was painted blue....as well as a sky blue pearl slingerland bass drum that was painted black! Id love to hear about the process you used to make it happen. I have used citrus strip before and dulled the crap out of a snare drum wrap.

Any detailed info would be VERY much appreciated.

Thanks!

Adam - The stuff I used is called: Motsenbocker's LIFT OFF 4. On the label it says; Spray Paint, Graffiti Remover. It comes in a white plastic spray bottle. I bought it at a local Lowe's store. I'm sure you can get it at Home Depot as well.

Here's a link:

I just sprayed it on liberally, waited about 10 minutes and then simply wiped it off with the rough side of a two-sided sponge. Simple, fast, and not as messy as other products I've used. You'll see the paint layer 'crinkle up' and it just slides right off the surface. I didn't even have to use any elbow grease. The spray did all the work and left behind a clean, unspoiled surface. Highly recommended. Makes short work of what is usually a painstaking, messy job. Hope this info helps...

Adam - After you strip off the paint, hit the wrap with Novus II and then Novus polish. The wrap on my bass drum especially, looks almost new. Seems like a good system; stripper/Novus II/Novus polish.

Thanks for the tip! Can't wait to see your kit complete! Man I love MG! I think that and wine red ripple are the two coolest finishes when it comes to Rogers!

Guys - I need the following parts to complete this project. If you have them, please pm me.

1 - 60's Rogers bass drum swivo mount for a cymbal holder.

2 - 60's Rogers swivo collets. (Just the collets, I have the base mounts.)

2 - 60's rogers hex bar spurs for bass drum. (I have the swivo base mounts, I just need the spurs.)

I'm really looking forward to completing this kit. It's coming out great.

Hi Purdy What size is the bass drum? as the spurs are of different length. Also the cymbal mount, did you want the nobbie type? or collet type? Let me know. Thanks
